I believe if we can close with 2 out of these 3 our class moves into the top 10 rankings.
The Worlds Best Fathers Day Gift
Hey RTT, got a question for you guys. Me and my family are planning a trip back to Tenn for my dad. He grew up in the Knoxville area, now lives in CA. One of his dreams has always been to bring us back, and all go to a game. Soon his dream may become a reality. My question for ya'll is, do you know when single game tix will be available for the public? I know that season's are out, I've been looking around, but they all look kind of steep. any help would be great, thanks (ed. note, we are planning on going to the Georgia game)

Statistical Odds to Win it All
Pomeroy has used his Log5 formula on this Pythag numbers to determine the odds that each team has at winning it all. His ranking isn't too kind to us in the first place, ranking us better than only St. Mary's and Cornell of the teams left in the tournament. Accordingly, he gives us a 1.2 percent chance of winning it all. He explains that Ohio State's chances at winning it all look pretty good because they merely have to navigate Tennessee and UNI/MSU in the Midwest. FWIW, before Wisconsin lost yesterday, they had been his #3 ranked team for several weeks (which I think was wacko). Jeff Sagarin has constructed a similar chart using a computer model that simluates the Sweet 16 100,000,000 times. He gives Tennesse about 30-to-1 odds at winning it all. Which is about the same as Xavier, and lands us as the 10th most likely team. Clearly they believe we are a big underdog to beat Ohio State. But at this point of the year, I think a lot of those statistical models can be thrown out the window, and what's more important is how well a team is playing right now, and, more importantly, how a team matches up with their opponent. Vegas has opened us up as a 4.5 point underdog to OSU. Both Accuscore and Pomeroy are giving us about a 28% chance to beat Ohio State. That seems low to me. Hopefully Tennessee will prove them wrong.
(I think these things are pretty much pointless, but they are interesting to look it)
Selby still getting recruited
Maesha Witherspoon, Josh Selby's mother, said yesterday that his recruitiment is over, and that now he is only going to focus on the few schools left on his list. It was believed that these schools are Kansas, Kentucky, UConn, and Arizona. However, according to Rob Lewis, Volquest's basketball writer, Bruce Pearl and Steve Forbes are flying to Baltimore tonight to attend Selby's game. Lewis thinks it's significant that Bruce is doing this the day before the team leaves on an important road game at Mississippi State, and that he would only do so if Tennessee we're legitimately in the mix. And for what it's worth, Scout has added Tennessee back to his list, albeit with "low" interest.

Crompton to Washington?
The Redskins will most likely take a franchise QB with the 4th overall pick, but to me, it would make a lot of sense to take JC as an insurance policy. I think he is mobile enough and has good enough arm strength to thrive in Shanahan's system. Thoughts?
Running Backs coach
UT is in talks with Chuck Smith to fill the last remaning vacancy as a defensive line coach. Every position has been accounted for except for running backs. Any guesses as to who will take on those responsibilities? Currently, the only coach on staff with any experience coaching that position is HC Derek Dooley; will he take on that role himself?
Available Football Scholarships
After the commitment of three players today, it seems like we only have a few spots open, and more potential recruits than available slots. I heard we can sign up to 30, but only 27 are allowed to enroll, and currently we have 22 commitments. Does anyone know the status of this? Any potential greyshirts?
Tennessee vs. Florida Coverage
For those of us living out of coverage (I'm slated to get the Ohio State game), does anyone know if this game will be on DirecTV or DishNetwork? and what channels? I have to know exactly what they are otherwise the idiots that work at this bar I go to won't be able to find it.
Derek Dooley
Let's hear your thoughts. Now all the chatter is about him. InsideTennessee (scout.com) is saying it will be him. But thankfully Tony Basilio is reporting that there are strong indications that is will be Derek Dooley - which means it won't. How dare that fool mention Lovie! He jinxed us all...
