Blogger Championship Series

...it's just like that other BCS except completely different. We'll be handing out Best Blog awards for each of the BCS conferences, plus one for mid-major coverage (including all independents other than Notre Dame), and one for more general, national coverage blogs. After long debate we decided to put Notre Dame blogs in with the Big East, as the "non-BCS" category is supposed to be an award for mid-majors, which Notre Dame is certainly not. Since ND shares bowl affiliations with the Big East and plays the rest of their sports there, it seemed the logical choice.

Import into Your Feed Reader!

NEW! Import all of this year's nominees' feeds into your favorite RSS feed reader by right-clicking here. [UPDATE: Man, these things are finicky. It's not working again. Hope to have it fixed soon.] [UPDATE No. 2: Fixed. For now.] Click "Save link as" (in Firefox) or "Save target as" (in Internet Explorer). Follow your feed reader's instructions on importing OPML files. Please note that the feeds are organized by category to make it easier for readers to import and keep just those feeds in which they are most interested. This, however, necessarily means that there are some duplicates in different folders. To mitigate this annoyance, I have included two extra folders called "All Nominees" and "All Winners-Runners-Up" that include all of the feeds from all of the nominees in one and all of the winners and runners up in the other in one long list so you can keep tabs on them that way. Depending on which reader you use, marking feeds as read in either of these categories will mark them as read in the other categories as well. Please note that I have tested the file in Google Reader, Sage, Rojo, Netvibes, Wizz RSS, and Bloglines. The file would not import into Wizz RSS, and while all of the feeds did import into Bloglines, the categorization of the feeds was messed up. For anyone who's wondering, Sage is my current favorite, as it allows you to navigate to full content without having to refresh your navigation pane when you're finished. Lacking the ability to mark all folders as read at once is its biggest drawback.
