Should Robert Meachem go pro? Point and counterpoint

Okay, Rocky Toppers.  Junior wide receiver Robert Meachem, who broke the single-season receiving yardage record this year, has a decision to make. So let's help him out.

Make the case for him staying at UT another year and then make the case for him racing for the cash at the end of the end zone.

Meachem, please stay!
Robert, you should stay in school, get a degree, and hang out with Ainge in Orange for another year.  Plus, this year there are lots of receivers who, while not better than you, get a lot more notariaty (Calvin Johnson, Jeff Smardjzaiafgusdguirga [the Notre Dame guy], Ted Ginn, Dwayne Jarrett, HELL, even Sidney Rice).  The point is, stay.  ONE MORE YEAR!  ONE MORE YEAR!

If you do decide to leave, I understand, you are great, and you proved it this year.  Plus, I'm sure at the combines you would blow everyone away, Mel Kiper would love you, and you'd be a first rounder.

Best of luck with your decision!

Rice
Doesn't Sidney Rice have to wait another year before he can leap into the NFL?  Or did he redshirt a year making him 3 yrs removed from HS?

Point-Counterpoint
Point (in a totally selfish kind of way): WE NEED YOU!!  You've given so much to the Tennessee program and have yet to earn that elsusive SEC Championship ring; let alone any bling resulting from a victory in a certain MNC game.  Yeah, your single season receiving yards is quite a feat in the UT record books; congrats on that.  But wouldn't you like to be a multi-record holder?  Single season TD receipts? Most yards/game? Most cathces/game? Numerous others?  Despite your progress from '04-'06, you'd be even more valuable to the NFL with another years worth of development.  Please stay...I'm not asking...I'M BEGGING!

Counterpoint: MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MON-EY....MON-EY!!!  You've got skills son, go get what you're worth and don't risk a 'multimillion dollar injury' in your last year with the Vols.  Your degree can be finished up at a later date and will be just as valuable.
