Tennessee Volunteers: Best plays of 2006 tournament

SEC Media days are this week, and practice is just around the corner, but we still have a bit of time to kill, so we're kicking off a Best Plays of 2006 bracket-ish tournament.

Starting today, we'll pit four of last season's plays against each other each day, two in the morning, and two later in the day. With each post, all y'all can vote for whichever play you think is better. To vote, you'll need to click on the "Entry Link" link at the bottom of each post. Voting for each match up will remain open until it's time for the winner's next match. Here's the plan:

Best Plays of 2006 Bracket
1 Cal: Hardesty 43-yard rush for a TD

Florida: Taylor 48 yard pass to Coker for TD 1

  ___           ___
4 Georgia: Coker 40 yard kickoff return

South Carolina: Hefney 65 yard punt return 4

    ___       ___
3 LSU: Morley INT and 31 yard return for TD

South Carolina: M. Mitchell INT and 17 yard return for TD 3

  ___           ___

        ___
1 Air Force: X. Mitchell TFL to win game         ___

Georgia: Wardlow blocked punt and recovery for TD 1

  ___           ___
4 Georgia: Stewart INT

Alabama: Hefney 32 yard punt return for first possession of the game 4

    ___       ___
3 Memphis: Ainge 84 yard pass to Meachem for TD

South Carolina: Colquitt 57 yard punt out of bounds at the one yard line 3

  ___           ___
2 Marshall: Coker 89-yard rush for TD

Cal: Ainge 80-yard pass to Meachem for a TD 2

We'll start with the upper left corner of the bracket and work our way around clockwise. The first post will be up as soon as the highlights are finished encoding, and the posts will continue through Tuesday of next week (minus the weekend, unless you think it should continue through the weekend -- let me know), at which time the final two plays will be compete for the designation of RTT's Best Play of 2006.

Good question.

Martin to Price?
Tee Martin's 79-yd bomb to Peerless Price in the 1998 MNCG?

That's what I would have voted for.  There were some doozies in that 'tournament', that's for sure!

As Hooper mentioned, none of the RTT uniform design entries went with the black shirts and orange pants, like we saw against that team coached by Spurrier this past weekend.

So I gave it a very quick stab. One thing I couldn't figure out in the short amount of time I took to do this was how to get the "T" on the helmet when designing your own helmet. Others had done it in the contest...I couldn't figure it out.
