Crisis averted. Maybe. Perhaps. For now.
And I'm not talking about Coker yet. I've spent the afternoon and most of this evening gradually loosening my tie while moving from one catastrophe to another, so it's good to see some good news.
LaMarcus Coker's "medical advisors" have advised, and Fulmer has agreed, that Coker should get back to practicing with the team, starting tomorrow after having fulfilled his "obligations" to the program. He won't play at (or even travel to) Cal, but he will be able to be on the field for the second game against Southern Miss, provided he "continues on a positive track."
Wow, that's a lot of mysterious quotation marks. But I don't care. I'm just glad to be home from work, five minutes from being out of my suit for the weekend, and two days away from Game Week.
Glad to have you back on the bus, son. Don't look back. There's a pile of money at the next exit, and we'll cheer you on the whole way.
