OTHER BROTHER DARYL VEREEN ARRESTED, CHARGED WITH PUBLIC INTOXICATION

Well, we now have the details on RTT#19 Daryl Vereen's recent charge of public intoxication. At about 3:00 a.m. Monday morning, UT police were responding to a fight in progress outside of Gibbs Hall involving somewhere around 10 people. Police arrived, idiots disbursed, and Vereen was seen trying to get into the driver's side of a Jeep parked in the fire lane. Then, then . . . the best part:

After several requests from the officer to stop were unheeded, the officer caught up with Vereen, the report states.

Mad props to GVX commenter for being the first to the punchline: ""[T]he officer caught up with Vereen". Does the officer have any eligibility left?"

It is recruiting season, you know.

Ugh
Yeah, even when I wrote that, I cringed, hearing echoes of my father uttering the word "groovy" and meaning it. Apparently there's a difference between self-awareness and restraint. I have the former but lack the latter.

I'll be one of those geezers in plaid pants so short they could be mistaken for capris wandering around the mall. When I wink at you, it'll be because I know. I know.

WHAT IF
Ya know when I first heard about this I said "Oh no here we go again". I was ready to throw  the book at him, but then I thought What If he was my son? What would I do? That would kind of put a different light on the subject. I would be very disappointed and shamed. But what kind of punishment should be inforced on him?
I first would have to pray for wisdom to do the right thing. Some kind of punishment that would teach him that what he did was wrong and not to do this again. Looking back to when I was a Pup my Dad would have kicked my tail and worked my hind end off and kept me to busy to even think of getting into any kind of trouble. But this pup is 18 years old and almost a man. He has to know that He has to be responsible for His actions. When ya do the crime ya  gotta do the time.
I'm glad that He is not my son, because it would be very hard to know what to do. Good luck on this one coach.
