Tennessee Volunteers v. Georgia Bulldogs: the "my that's a lot of orange" stats comparison

Keeping in mind that stats only describe "stuff that has already happened," that they don't generally account for the strength of the opponents against which they have been accumulated (hello, MTSU!), and that relying on them to predict future results is hazardous to the future of our nation, it still appears that we're in good shape 'gainst the Bulldogs. They're shooting free throws only slightly better, blocking shots only slightly better, and rebounding only slightly above "only slightly better."

But all of that's qualified by the phrase "for the season," and as Ghost of Neyland has pointed out, things have changed since Duke Crews has returned. We've got better numbers in everything else, and I wonder aloud (this is me, wondering aloud, in print, on the screen . . . can you hear me?), whether Georgia really has any numbers better, slight or not, than Tennessee over the past 7-10 games.

Of course, there's that pesky home court thing. Also, note that the Lady Vols just got romped at LSU, so, you know, anything can happen. But my, oh my, that's a lot of orange. And in case you didn't already know it, orange is beautiful.

Significance:
Of the pro-Georgia stats:
  •  FT percentage - not statistically significant
  •  Rebounds / Game - statistically significant
  •  Defensive Reb/Game - statistically significant
  •  Block / Game - not statistically significant
(This was done by my highly scientific and proprietary method of looking at the size of the differential, the size of the numbers, and making a guess at significance.  But it's pretty close.)
