Big news from Around the Hill

Chest-bumped to the front. XRayVol, you're not the only one.

-- ed.

I'm sure I'm about the only one around here who really cares about this but just in case anyone else is interested there's some pretty exciting news from the Hill.

It was announced that the men's Tennis team will be hosting a 1st and 2nd round regional this weekend. This is a big honor in college tennis and we should be very proud of the boys for bringing this to UT.

The #8 Vols (21-3) will play Furman in the first round Saturday at 11 AM at the Goodfriend Tennis Center on campus. They will then face the winner of Kentucky and Va. Tech. on Sunday at 2 PM.

You may ask, "But J, how do you know they'll advance?" Simple. UT has already beaten Furman once this year, 7-0, and the Vols own the all-time series 15-0. So I'd say the chances are pretty darn good. The Vols have also already dismissed Kentucky twice this season and Va. Tech once. So it looks pretty good that we'll advance to the round of 16 May 16 in Tulsa.

The Vols' last hosted regional was in 2005 where we beat ETSU and Ohio St. to advance to the round of 16, unfortunately to lose to eventual National Champion UCLA. Hopefully we'll be more successful this year.

Remember, there's no basketball or football or anything really worth being excited about right now (the baseball team has really hit a skid lately dropping 7 out of the last 10 games dropping them to 25-20 on the season. Sorry guys.) so if you don't have anything better to do Saturday and/or Sunday, ride out to campus and support the Vols. I know I would if I could, unfortunately an extremely restrictive current financial situation and the fact that I live 4 hours away prevents me from doing so. Best of luck guys and Let's Go To Tulsa!!!  GO VOLS!!!!

Sweet!
UT has a terrific all-around sports program, particularly for a men's program that takes no money from the state.

Thanks again.  To tell you how much I appreciate these posts, I actually found myself missing it on Monday.  I checked around noonish for the Around the Hill and it wasn't there.  ~sniff~  ;)

Sorry Hoop.
I would've had something up on Monday or yesterday, but was unable to get enough time to. My apologies. I'll try to be more responsi-able in the future (although things are pretty much coming to a close right about now except for baseball and softball and I think volleyball starts soon, but I'm not sure). I'll get on that and let y'all know.

BTW, Chest Bumps rock!! Thanks for that distinguished honor of being the first. Ah! ~long pause for effect~ There's so many people I want to thank...

I've got something for you young man. Oh! It's Thaa Claawww!! Oh, you're afraid of The Claw...

FYi, I was just teasing a bit.
Believe me, I'll be the last to complain about being unable to keep something up on time.  I still don't know how Joel does it, to be honest.

And you deserved the first one.

All I can say about the C-Lo story is Holy S**T!!

RUMOR, RUMOR, RUMOR is that Ramar Smith, AKA Chain Netz, has been dismissed from the team and his scholarship offered to a juco pg that played at Oklahoma. Can anyone verify thet validity of this??
