In case you hadn't heard the news yet, Bruce Pearl is the 2008 winner of the Rupp Cup for National Coach of the Year.
The award is handed out by the Commonwealth Athletic Club of Kentucky, along with the Rupp Award for National Player of the Year (Hansbrough). While the Award has been handed out since 1972, the Cup is a relatively new award; Pearl is the fifth recipient of the Cup. That'll be a pretty piece of hardware to display to potential recruits for years to come.
