Lundardi's projection as we enter Championship Week has the Vols holding as a 6 seed, along with LSU at 6, and South Carolina among the Last Four In at a 12. Florida is listed third on the First Four Out line, Kentucky and Auburn nowhere to be found.
It's important for the Vols to get some wins in Tampa not just for seeding, but for location: the higher up the bracket, the more likely the Vols can play somewhere (relatively) closer to home in the opening rounds. Here are the NCAA Tournament locations this year:
