Well, it's one of those boring old bye weeks, but it's more like a NASCAR pit stop in the grand BCS scheme of things. The Race continues, and so the lead horses must be watched.
What games to watch:
- Vanderbilt at Georgia (#16). 12:30 p.m., ESPN Gameplan, ch. 780.
- Cincinnati at No. 7 Louisville. 3:30 p.m., ESPNU.
- Florida (#2) at Auburn (#11). 7:45 p.m., ESPN.
What scores to watch, who to root for, and why
SEC v. SEC Games
- Florida (#2) at Auburn (#11). 7:45 p.m., ESPN. Tennessee still needs Florida to lose twice. One must be this week or there's no way they'll get two.
- Vanderbilt at Georgia (#16). 12:30 p.m., ESPN Gameplan, ch. 780. Root for the former opponent here to make an impressive win last week look even better.
- Kentucky at LSU (#14). Toss up.
- Alabama v. Ole Miss. The Vols won't play Ole Miss this year, but Alabama will be a former opponent in a few weeks, so we want them to look good. Assuming the Vols beat them, of course, which is a given in this whole exercise.
National Games of Interest
Always root against the teams higher than Tennessee in the polls. If they're both higher, root against the highest-ranked team. Generally root for former opponents UT has beaten to make the win look more impressive.
