BlogPoll Roundtable

BlogPoll Roundtable is hosted this week by the good folk at My Opinion on Sports.

1. The Battle for #1 - USC and LSU are separated by one vote in the AP poll. We made the switch in last week's blogpoll by putting the Tigers in our top spot. State your case for who should be the top team in the country.

LSU, at their worst, still beat Tulane by 25 points. USC at their worst escaped Seattle with a three-point win. Style has to count for something, and at this point LSU just looks the role of a champion more than the Trojans.

2. Oklahoma, Florida, West Virginia, Texas and Rutgers were all upset this weekend. Of those teams, who has the best shot of getting back into the national title hunt?

Oklahoma probably has the easiest road as they shouldn't be challenged by much on their schedule after Texas... then again, they shouldn't have been challenged by Colorado, so who knows? But the Sooners could definitely win out and get back into it.

On the other hand Florida has the talent, and their tougher schedule would be a boon for them if they overcome it. The Gators still have Georgia, South Carolina, top-ten Kentucky, FSU and the SEC championship game -- if they make it that far, which would probably also mean beating LSU in Baton Rouge this weekend. They also have the advantage of having been in this position before, just last year, and making it there.

3. Looking at the current AP Top 10, who is grossly overrated and who should be in there that isn't?

Honestly, most of this season I've had more trouble justifying anybody's place in the top ten. There seems to be a lot of teams who belong in the 11-20 range, but no elite teams to make up a "ten-best."

But to answer the question, we'll find out more with the South Carolina/Kentucky result. One of them might be overrated, and one might really deserve to be there.

4. What is the worst coaching mistake you've seen this season?

Phil Fulmer letting his players off the bus in Gainesville was a pretty bad one. No, wait, letting them onto the plane to Berkley. No no, punting to DeSean Jackson... I mean Brandon James... I mean...
