Lucas Taylor
Why.
Lucas Taylor broke into Volunteers like he does most things: quietly and well. In 2005, Taylor played in nine games, mostly on special teams as a kick and punt returner. In 2006, he graduated from special teams to receiver and caught at least one pass in 11 different games. The highlight of 2006 for Taylor was throwing the first touchdown pass of his career, hitting LaMarcus Coker for a 48-yarder after taking a hand off.
2007 saw Taylor graduate into the starting lineup for 13 games. He finished second in the SEC with 1,000 receiving yards and second to Robert Meachem in Tennessee history for 73 catches during a single season. Oh, and he liked that touchdown pass to Coker in 2006 so much that he did it again in 2007. Taylor was named All-SEC by the AP.
