2008 Senior Day Tribute: Josh Briscoe

Josh Briscoe

Why.

Well whaddaya know? A receiver who didn't redshirt? Unheard of!

Josh Briscoe not only didn't redshirt, he played in double digit games as a freshman in 2005. He went on to play in 13 games the following year, and in 2007, he started five games and played in all 14. He finished that season third on the team with 56 catches for 557 yards. At Florida, yes, during the Dishumiliarrassment, Briscoe caught eight passes for 76 yards, which might not have sounded like a lot then, but sure sounds good this season, doesn't it? He also had eight for 79 yards against LSU in the SEC Championship game. He went over 100 in the Outback Bowl against Wisconsin.

And then came the Clawfense and the Season of Constant Sorrow. With five different QBs lining up for snaps, Briscoe has only caught 14 balls for 176 yards and one TD. Ah, well. Guy's been good for Tennessee. Briscoe, by the way, is also the male representative on the SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and President of the UT SAAC. Leader is Josh Briscoe.
