RTT SEC Power Poll ballot

RTT's SEC Power Poll ballot for this week. The numbers repeatedly referred to below are the same ones I use for the RTT BlogPoll ballot. Those figures are resume-based, though, and so I took some liberties with them for the Power Poll.

  • Florida. The Gators are like LSU but with experience at all of the right positions.
  • LSU. Best resume of any SEC team to date, and there's no reason to think they couldn't handle any of the other teams except perhaps for Florida.
  • Georgia. An excellent performance against Arizona State this week has chipped away even further at my earlier assessment that the Dawgs were overrated. For now, though, I still think LSU and Florida will get them. Shoot, Alabama could get them this week.
  • Alabama. I'm really surprised with the Crimson Tide so far. They are top 15 in all of the key defensive statistics with the exception of third down defense, and they're No. 16 in that.
  • Auburn. A loss to a really good LSU team is not shameful.
  • Vanderbilt. Yes, Vanderbilt. There's still plenty of time for them to fall apart, but they're building quite the impressive resume so far. They're this high primarily due to their victory over South Carolina, who I think would best most of the teams below them.
  • South Carolina. The Gamecocks are still sporting a spectacular passing defense despite their 2-2 record.
  • Kentucky. Pass efficiency defense ranked 11th and rush defense ranked 5th. Offense, though, is atrocious, statistically speaking.
  • Mississippi. Blah, blah, whatever.
  • Tennessee. The Vols' defensive stats are fine. Offensively, they're still struggling, but much of that is probably attributed to productivity-killing mistakes.
  • Arkansas. Why didn't the Vols have these guys on the schedule this year instead of the last two years?
  • Mississippi State. My momma always taught me to keep my mouth shut if I couldn't say something nice. The Bulldogs have the 7th best pass efficiency defense in the nation.

Full, re-ordered chart after the jump.
