Auburn

  • Lost at home to LSU, 21-26.
  • LSU QB Jarrett Lee overcame an early pick six and hooked up with Brandon LaFell on an 18-yard touchdown pass with 1:03 left.
  • LSU piled up 178 rushing yards against Auburn's stingy defense.

  • The Dawgs played their most complete game of the year, rushing for 176 yards (and holding the Sun Devils to 4) and passing for 285 yards.
  • Knowshon Moreno rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns, including another flying TD for the highlight reel.

Mississippi State

  • Croom's offense was shut out for three quarters, and his defense gave up 438 yards on the ground.
  • Mississippi State did gain 400 yards of offense, though, leading to the conclusion that they had a week similar to ours. Glacing at the stat sheet -- yep, four turnovers for the Bulldogs.

Vanderbilt

  • Beat Ole Miss on the road, 23-17.
  • Another game in the SEC in which the losing team out-statted the victor, as Ole Miss compiled 385 yards to Vandy's 202.
  • Vanderbilt's Ryan Hamilton made sure none of that mattered, intercepting three passes and returning one for a touchdown. He also prevented a score with a key goal-line tackle.
  • Bizarro breaking news: Vanderbilt is now ranked in the both the coaches and AP polls. The last time Vandy was ranked? Ask George Orwell.

Kentucky

  • Beat Middle Tennessee at home, 20-14.
  • A back and forth affair ended dramatically as MTSU threw a 61 yard desperation pass in the waning seconds with Kentucky holding on to a 20-14 lead. It appeared to be a Hail Mary-ish victory, but was just short. Still, the Blue Raiders had one last chance right at the goal line, but Kentucky's Robbie McAtee tackled MTSU's Eldred King at the 1-yard line to preserve the victory.
