I know what you did last week: a look at the Tennessee Volunteers' upcoming opponents

A quick recap of what all of the Vols' future opponents did last week, with animated drive charts.

Northern Illinois

  • Shut out Eastern Michigan on the road, 37-0.
  • EMU's starting QB left the game early with a shoulder injury.
  • Me'Co Brown, NIU's leader in all-purpose and rushing yards, rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown.
  • QB Dan Nicholson was 11-15 for 92 yards.
  • Roughly 17,000 people attended this game. The Huskies may see four times that number this Saturday at Neyland. Maybe.

Georgia v. Alabama

  • Alabama stomped Georgia in Athens, 41-30.
  • The Tide began the game an astounding 31-0 before the break. Georgia showed some signs of life in the second, but this game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates.
  • Alabama scored on its first five possessions. They have not trailed an opponent all season.
  • Tide QB John Parker Wilson was 13-16 for 205 yards and a TD. RB Glen Coffee had 23 carries for 86 yards and two TDs. WR Julio Jones caught five balls for 94 yards and one TD. Balance, anyone?
  • Georgia QB Matthew Stafford went 24-42 for 274 yards, two TDs, and one INT. Dawg playmakers RB Knowshon Moreno and WR A.J. Green were held to 34 and 88 yards respectively.
  • Remember all of the pre-season hype about Georgia? And the in-season hype about Georgia? Now they're starting to parrot things like this: "Georgia has played three games between Top 10 teams in the long history of Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs have lost all three. Georgia has alos lost five ot its last six home games against Top 10 teams." Sound sorta kinda familiar?
  • Moreno suffered a contusion and may miss the Tennessee game, but the Dawgs have a week off to lick their wounds and prepare for Tennessee.

Alabama

  • See above.

South Carolina

  • Beat UAB at home, 26-13.
  • Troubled QB Stephen Garcia entered the game on the Gamecocks' second possession, and over the next five possessions accounted for all but six of South Carolina's yards. He either passed or ran the ball on 26 of the next 32 plays. He finished 13-20 for 131 yards with another 86 yards rushing. Most of his rushing yards came not on designed plays, but on scrambles after he couldn't find anyone open.
  • The defense held UAB to 207 total yards and forced three turnovers.

Wyoming

  • Lost 45-16 at Bowling Green.
  • Wyoming is struggling offensively, especially in the passing game. Huh. Seems like I've written that sentence recently.
  • In its two other losses this season, the Cowboys have had 11 turnovers, including six interceptions. Will somebody please stop with the deja vu already?

  • RBs Alfonso Smith and Tony Dixon rushed for 67 and 45 yards respectively, and they had three TDs between them.
