  • Recruiting update. DB Darren Myles? Down to three: Tennessee, Alabama, and LSU, he says. On Myles' visit to Tennessee this past weekend, he was met in the hotel lobby by Monte Kiffin who treated him to a lengthy session on the many variations of the Tampa 2 before Myles could even get checked in. Jarrett Brown? Later, Vols, I'm likely a Sooner. Quinton Washington? Thinking. This weekend's visit list is downright excitin': No. 1 prospect in Tennessee and No. 2 WR in the nation, Marlon Brown.  No. 5 WR in the nation, Pat Patterson. No. 3 TE in the nation, Orson Charles. No. 2 RB in the nation, Trent Richardson. Richardson may or may not come in light of the fact he's a soft verbal to Alabama and would risk the wrath of Nick Saban for taking the visit. If he does come and he does commit, he'll be my new favorite person.
  • What's up with Ryan Childress? He's still battling back from some wicked knee dislocation that somehow also chipped his thigh bone. Yikes. Anyway, he's anchoring the scout team and apparently still displaying that nastiness we all love about him.
  • Crucial week on the hardwood. Bruce Pearl says that this week's games against LSU and Florida are "must-win games." Line of reasoning: To make it to the NCAA Tournament, the Vols are going to have to be in the race for the SEC Championship. Tall order, that, what with SEC Player of the Week Marcus Thornton waltzing into town and drawing comparisons to Kentucky's Jodie Meeks from none other than Pearl himself. By the way, Pearl has purchased 3,000 of the OUTLIVE white t-shirts they're wanting folks to wear to the Florida game in support of the Tennessee Fights to Beat Cancer program.
  • Summitt's 1,000th. USA Today has a really nice feature on our very own Pat Summitt as she chases that 1,000th win. Chest bump to Gate 21 for the find.
