Talking Points: Crompton beats Berry at strange duties

The Vols have had a little fun at practice this week, with Jonathan Crompton winning one for the offense by kicking a 20-yard field goal. He was up against Dennis Rogan, whose kick "barely made it to the line of scrimmage." Perhaps it wasn't Rogan's fault, though, as the team discovered something that Eric Berry can't do: hold for placekicks.
Speaking of Berry, he did not participate in the last tackle, which of course must mean that he's forgoing millions of dollars so that he can come back and do that next year. Yep. No doubt about that. Right? Right?
Janzen Jackson has apparently looked fantastic (duplicate link) at practice this week. Honk if you have a woo in you.

Chris Walker, Ben Martin, Art Evans, and Zach Rogers are all game time decisions tomorrow (duplicate link). If we have to go without both Walker and Martin, well, shiver.

Tennessee is second in the SEC (behind Alabama) and is tied for 11th in the nation in sacks allowed. That may be Crompton's favorite stat.

The Vols are hoping to get LaMarcus Thompson back for tomorrow's game against Kentucky. With such a scary injury, one of the main concerns is his mental health. If he returns, will he be thinking about it? Will he be as aggressive as he should be?

Disappointed by his performance in the last two games of the Paradise Jam Tournament, Scotty Hopson's been staying late after practice, working on his shot.
