- Here's an oddity: Tennessee plays Mississippi State tonight in basketball. Scotty Hopson originally committed to Mississippi State but signed with Tennessee. Why? Because he liked the Vols' style of play. The irony, courtesy of this Bruce Pearl comment: "Watching Mississippi State now is like watching us a year ago. They run so many of the things that we ran a year ago, and they do it so well. They create in transition, and they shoot and make more three balls than anybody. They spread you out, and they’re quicker at every single position." Aaaiii.
- Impressed. New WR coach Frank Wilson is impressed with the receivers on Tennessee's roster and mentioned Gerald Jones by name, which I'm fairly certain is not a violation since he's already on the team but I'm making no promises because you never can really know can you no you can't.
