Live from SEC Media Days

Yes, SEC Football Media Days kicks off this afternoon in Hoover, Alabama, and I'm fortunate enough to be one of the more than 900 credentialed media members covering the thing. For those of you concerned that I drove off a cliff while saying nice things about Steve Spurrier on the Team Speed Kills Now podcast last night, I assure you that it was merely my cell phone and not me that checked out of life upon hearing those words. It's a loyal device that does not want to bring shame upon the good name of its ancestors.

Anyway, it's still early, and I haven't actually confirmed that the credential for this blogger isn't just some cruel joke to get me into the state of Alabama so the natives can do unspeakable things to me, but I'll do that shortly. Scheduled to appear at the Wynfrey today are Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and Kentucky. As hooper mentioned earlier, the SEC will stream video of the event, but for those of you who can't watch, Team Speed Kills and Rocky Top Talk will be bringing you everything we possibly can.

Here at RTT, we'll be live-blogging all three days. Rather than (1) attempting to update the body of each post with time stamps and instant reactions (which takes too much time) or (2) using Cover It Live (which is fast, but separates my posts from your ability to respond directly to them), we'll be using SB Nation's can't-be-beat commenting system, which is both threaded and as fast as chat. It'll be just like a game thread. I'll post the thing and join y'all in the comments so you can directly respond to each one of my entries or start your own conversations.

Here's the tentative schedule for RTT today:

1:00 - 3:00 EST: Live blogs of Arkansas and Vanderbilt.

3:00 - 5:00 EST: Live blogs of Mississippi State and Kentucky.

Each of those will actually be divided into two different posts at whatever time the first team leaves and the second team begins.

After Kentucky, we'll take a break to write some full-length posts on the day's events and hopefully post some pictures, and then at 9:00 EST there will be another episode of Team Speed Kills Now. We've lined up the SB Nation bloggers for the teams in the news today and have an entire hour blocked off for talking to them about the day's events.

I'm off for now. I have roughly three hours to figure out how to become a member of the media.
