This one's for sole possession of the SEC crown! The Lady Vols have already assured themselves a share of the regular season title with their 70-61 victory over LSU on Monday. The Lady 'Cats, however, can sneak into a tie if they win out and Tennessee loses their final two games. A win tonight by Tennessee closes the books on the season race and makes the season finale against Mississippi purely an exercise in NCAA tournament positioning.
Kentucky's women's team has improved over the last few years and would love to make the UT-UK series a co-ed rivalry. This game means a lot to them, as a victory against Tennessee not only validates their position in the SEC, but gives them a tremendous resume boost heading into the NCAA tournament. The Lady Vols will have to stay focused on this one as the Lady Wildcats will most assuredly give it everything they have.
