Rhyne Williams -- who is my homeboy -- plays today at 3pm (eastern) against Steve Johnson out of USC for the NCAA singles title (and the accompanying wildcard to the U.S. Open).  Williams prevailed yesterday against friend and fellow Volunteer (and Tennessean), Tennys Sandgren, in the inaugural All-Vol semifinal. Biggie ups to Tennys for a great tournament.

Rhyne has played Steve Johnson before.  He in fact beat the moustached villain in November at the USTA/ITA indoor finals to secure that title.  Good luck to Rhyne today.  He's been in Palo Alto for two weeks now, so hopefully he ends the trip on a good note and comes back with some hardware.

Shall we use this as an open thread for the match?  Done and done.
