The top three in our overall standings are currently picking winners straight up at over 81%, which is quite impressive through four weeks. But the choices are a little more difficult this weekend, at least according to our community. Here's the way our readers are leaning as of Wednesday night:
- Our community majority vote is undefeated in picking the Thursday night games so far this year. 84% like the road team tonight, as undefeated South Florida travels to recently heartbroken Pittsburgh.
- The leader for most confident pick of the year remains Boise State over Toledo from a few weeks back, with 94% liking the Broncos at an average of 17.8 confidence points. The challenger to that mark this week? The Vols over Buffalo, where currently 98% are taking UT at an average of 17.5 confidence points.
- Most of us seem to believe very strongly in the outcome of all the SEC action this weekend: 87% like Alabama over Florida, 86% like South Carolina at home over Auburn, 86% like Fresno State to continue Houston Nutt's funeral procession, and most have jumped off the Mississippi State bandwagon even when Mark Richt's tumultuous Bulldogs are on the other sideline: 78% like Georgia in Athens over their Bulldog counterparts.
- The one SEC* game we're divided on: 59% like Texas A&M over Arkansas in the Jerry Dome. That joins Clemson at Virginia Tech (63% Hokies) and Michigan State at Ohio State (57% Spartans) as our closest picks of the week.
