Tennessee earns a number one seed in the NIT, will face Savannah State

The Vols' season will have a chance to continue with three more games in Thompson-Boling Arena if the Vols take care of business. Tennessee earned a one seed in the NIT and will start their run against MEAC regular season champion Savannah State Tuesday night at 8:00 PM ET.

Savannah State was blown out in non-conference play by Georgetown (83-54), Indiana (94-65), and Wisconsin (66-33). They also lost to Arkansas (83-66) and Chattanooga (65-63). But once conference play began the team got hot - Savannah State won twelve games in a row from January 21-March 1 to win their conference, before bowing out to Hampton in the MEAC Tournament.

If the Vols win, they will face the winner of MTSU and Marshall in Knoxville at a date and time to be scheduled later. Tickets for Tuesday nights game with Savannah State are $10 general admission seating, and can be purchased here.
