Some of you old timers may remember way back in 2008 when Rocky Top Talk and the rest of the SB Nation community rolled out the fancy new platform and content management system that we've all come to love so much. It was a massive improvement over what was already a very good platform, and it's been, in my humble opinion, the best blogging platform on the internet ever since.
Well, SB Nation doesn't rest on its laurels, whatever those are (oh). No, they keep looking for ways to continually improve no matter how far ahead of everyone else they are. And they're always monitoring the landscape to see if circumstances dictate a complete re-thinking of the concept rather than a few tweaks to the existing system. Well, times have changed since 2008, and content is being consumed in a dramatically different way than it was in 2008, and so SB Nation has in fact completely re-thought and redesigned its platform. We'll get to see the thing in all of its glory very soon (within the next month or so), but today we're revealing everyone's new logos as a bit of a preview. The company was absolutely terrific about avoiding the logo by committee problem yet asking for and incorporating feedback from the blogs, and we're very pleased with the way RTT's new logo turned out. Have a look around the network this morning to get a gander at some of the others. Or you can just look at all of them all at once here. They're fantastic.
Below the jump is a quick message from SBN founder Tyler Bleszinski about SB Nation United.
It's with great pleasure that I unveil the first step in the next evolution of Rocky Top Talk. In the next month SB Nation will be undergoing a dramatic upgrade to our platform and our editorial process. There will be much more detail to come but for now, the new logo below is just a first taste of what is coming for RTT.
This is a small, but important sample of what is coming when our network undergoes its most exciting and radical transformation in the eight-year history of the company. A new visual identity here and across the network is only one step we are taking to unite our network of sites. United through individuality is the underlying theme of this project. You'll notice that our team colors and the unique spirit of our individual community is maintained while making it clear to sports fans that each site is a part of the larger SB Nation network. We want everyone to know that they can find the same type of great writing, video and conversation that we offer here on all of our 300+ plus sites. You can browse through all the new logos on a special page we put together at sbnation.com/united.
Our commitment to passionately follow our sports will never end. It's what makes SB Nation a special place and that will only be enhanced by these new changes. In the meantime we're setting up additions to our store so you can be sporting the latest and greatest before it even launches. Welcome to our future.
