New Year's Day Open Thread

Happy New Year to you and yours; with 2012 behind us we look forward to better days in Knoxville in 2013. The final days of this college football season play out with seven SEC teams in action in the next seven days, including three today:

• Gator: #20 Northwestern vs Mississippi State (12:00 PM - ESPN2)
• Heart of Dallas: Purdue vs Oklahoma State (12:00 PM - ESPNU)
• Outback: #10 South Carolina vs #18 Michigan (1:00 PM - ESPN)
• Capital One: #7 Georgia vs #16 Nebraska (1:00 PM - ABC)
• Rose: #6 Stanford vs Wisconsin (5:00 PM - ESPN)
• Orange: #12 Florida State vs #15 Northern Illinois (8:30 PM - ESPN)

Along with conference rooting interests, future UT wide receiver coach Zach Azzanni will be on the Barry Alvarez coaching staff today in Pasadena. Once again we find ourselves hoping this is the last time we won't be playing in January, but we have our fresh start and look forward to better days in Januarys still to come.
