It's now being reported that the long-awaited game between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Virginia Tech Hokies at Bristol Motor Speedway will finally happen in 2016. Assuming this does not replace a home game, I can see absolutely no downside.
BMS holds 160,000, and if you've never been there, it's not like a regular race track that's so large it would be difficult to see the action. It's a "short-track," 1/2 mile, if I remember correctly, and having been there once before, you can see what you need to see. And the prospect of being party to a historical game played in front of the most fans to ever witness a game live, well, it's huge. Not to mention a boon to the Tri Cities economy and an opportunity for fans a bit further from campus to participate.
There aren't a lot of details right now, but what do y'all think?
