Here are the Vols' national rankings in all major statistical categories after four games. Green means Top 30, red means Bottom 30, and yellow is the big, fat middle. Note the caveats before proceeding. First up is the Stuff UT is Doing Well.
Where Tennessee is doing well
Well, we're holding steady on the discipline categories of penalties, and the offensive line barely moved in keeping its reputation for not allowing sacks or tackles for loss. And we still rank well in intercepting passes.
But somebody sing a sad farewell to Rushing Offense and Passes Had Intercepted, because they fell out of the Top 30. And somebody wrap Will's head in bubble wrap before he reads this particular stat: Passes Had Intercepted changed from #17 last week to #99 this week.
On the other hand, Fumbles recovered joined the Top 30 party, entering at #15 from #48. Welcome!

Where Tennessee needs major imporovement
Oh, boy. No one will be surprised to learn that Turnovers Lost and Passes Had Intercepted raced each other to the cellar this week. And no one will be shocked to learn that of the nine statistical categories in which Tennessee currently ranks in the bottom quartile of all FBS teams, four of them directly relate to the passing game and two more relate to it indirectly. The most depressing thing about all of this? Look at the green in the 2012 and 2011 columns and then look at the red in those same rows. And then embrace your preferred coping method.
