Before we get started with this week's RTT Guessing Game, I wanted to announce that I'm awarding myself extra bragging points this week. They don't help me in the standings, but they do allow me to boast about two of last week's questions. Both questions asked contestants to choose the bigger number. The first choice was between the number of Ole Miss 3rd down conversions and their sacks plus one. The second choice was between the number of Tennessee's field goals and their touchdowns plus one. Usually, I have to add "tie" as a choice just in case, but in both cases this week the answers were actual ties, which makes me feel like a Vegas bookie getting the lines right. Except that I'm in Jonesborough in a cow pasture, which is sort of different than the Las Vegas strip.
Anyway, among 30 contestants this week, we awarded a total of 12 points. Only biologydropout and dbsvol got more than one answer right. I didn't get a single question correct, by the way, which is why I'm consoling myself with bonus brag points.

If you've checked out of this game because you feel it's hopeless, this week is your opportunity to get back in because we're about to introduce some chaos and Nihongo Redistributive Game Theory (I made up that phrase) into this thing. Starting this week, we're injecting Mario Kart concepts into the contest. The first question gets you one point for driving well. The second is a mushroom that gets you two points if you get it right so you can start making up some ground. And the third question tosses a blue shell into the mix, and if anyone gets it right, the leaders lose their lead. (The blue shell will be assessed after the standings are calculated. You know, just a hair before you cross the finish line.) :-)
