The Vols picked up their fifth 2016 commitment and their third four-star of the group today when quarterback Austin Kendall of North Carolina committed to the Big Orange:

Kendall adds yet another option at quarterback in the future for Tennessee. Quinten Dormady, a four-star according to 247 whose star may rise after returning from injury as a senior this fall, is committed for the 2015 class. He joins in-state athlete Jauan Jennings, who could get a look at quarterback. Of course Josh Dobbs and Nathan Peterman could both still be on hand and in the fight in 2016 as well.
Austin Kendall had received offers from a number of schools with strong interest from the in-state Carolina contingent. Check out his profile from 247 Sports here. Butch Jones continues to get the job done on the recruiting trail for Tennessee; it seems like the Vols have as many commitments two years in advance as Derek Dooley did in the summer leading up to that following signing day, and it's been a long time since Tennessee carried a multi-year commitment from a four-star quarterback. Tennessee continues its positive momentum as fall camp opens for the 2014 season, with plenty of excitement building now for the present and the future.
