Lots of action at the top with a lead change after every question this week. Volundore got blown up by a blue shell, which gave the lead to Will Shelton, who promptly got blown up by the next blue shell giving the lead right back to volundore and newcomer SmallsVFL. SmallsVFL then answered the third question right and nabbed the lead for himself. No thunderbolts or new blue shells this week, which means chaos will balance out the universe next week. So answer carefully this week to take care of the skill portion of this thing.

And now for the play-by-play of last week's action. Reminder, here's what's happening after every question:
Mushroom. Plus one point. Two of these per round, randomly distributed.
Banana. Minus one point. Two of these per round, randomly distributed.
Blue Shell. 25% chance each round of the person in last place getting one of these. Once received, it's automatically released and will travel one place (I changed this to four places in Week 7 due to it moving too slow and realizing that a player could otherwise stay ahead of it by getting all questions right. No leader escapes the blue shell in Mario Kart.) each round until it reaches the highest point total at which point it will blow up the player(s) then in first place. They'll lose two points.
Thunderbolt. 25% chance each round of someone in the bottom half of the standings getting this. When received, it's automatically released, and everyone loses two points except for the person who received and used it.
Round 1
Question: How many net rushing yards to the Vols get? Answer: 132 (100-139). Ten people got it right.
Mushrooms: Bruce in Louisville and DRose.
Bananas: VolFanatETSU and TennVol95 in 3D!.
No new blue shells, and no thunderbolts. The highest blue shell finally finds the leader -- volundore -- who loses two points. Will Shelton takes the lead. The other pending blue shell advances four spots.
Round 2
Question: Who leads at halftime? Answer: Tie. Only three people got a point for getting this right.
Mushrooms: codman19 got both of these.
Bananas: NashVol and smokydog.
No new blue shells, and no thunderbolts. The other pending blue shell with it's new-found enthusiasm, finds Will Shelton, and he loses two points after holding the lead for all of one round. Volundore retakes the lead, but now shares it with SmallsVFL.
Round 3
Question: What's the final margin? Answer: 5. Ten people got this right and got a point for it. SmallsVFL takes sole possession of the lead.

And again, no new blue shells and no thunderbolts. Boring.
