Vols-Bulldogs Guessing Game

After six mushrooms, six bananas, one blue shell, and one thunderbolt, volundore takes sole possession of the lead with five points in the 2015 RTT Guessing Game. The details on how it all unfolded are below, but let's put this week on the tee first.

And now for the play-by-play of last week's action. Reminder, here's what's happening after every question:

Mushroom. Plus one point. Two of these per round, randomly distributed.

Banana. Minus one point. Two of these per round, randomly distributed.

Blue Shell. 25% chance each round of the person in last place getting one of these. Once received, it's automatically released and will travel one place each round until it reaches the highest point total at which point it will blow up the player(s) then in first place. They'll lose two points.

Thunderbolt. 25% chance each round of someone in the bottom half of the standings getting this. When received, it's automatically released, and everyone loses two points except for the person who received and used it.

Round 1

The question was whether the Vols would get over 200 net passing yards, which they did. Roughly half of the people who played got this right and got a point for it. Standings after answering the first question:

The first two mushrooms go to LexVol and brewer2111. They each burst ahead by one point. The_German then runs over a banana and loses a point, as does RavenVol, who had been tied for first.

The last place player, volsohard16, does in fact get a blue shell and sends it on its way to the front of the pack. There is no thunderbolt this round.

All but three people who played got this question right (Do the Vols attempt a 4th down?). Here are the standings before the specials:

Volundore, who's in 6th place, finds a mushroom, as does Will Shelton. For the moment, volundore takes the lead all to himself, and Will Shelton joins the pack in 2nd. The bananas find Coach799, who goes back to zero, and sjpetterson, who goes negative. There are no thunderbolts or blue shells. The existing blue shell moves up to the next group.

Round 3

All but eight people got this question right (Do the Vols give up a 4th-down conversion?) and got a point for it. Standings before the specials:

Mushrooms go to LTVol99 and DCVFL. Bananas hit laggards goobervol and Andrew Cooper. There are no blue shells, but aurabass draws a Thunderbolt and everyone but him/her loses two points.

The existing Blue Shell moves up to the next group and sets it eyeless focus on volundore.
