Yesterday's play was about the way a game should have ended. Today's play is a happy reminder of the final touchdown in a game that did finish the right way.
The drive itself was fueled by the pass game: 34 yards to Ethan Wolf to move in range, 24 more to Alex Ellis on 3rd and 8 to give it a chance to finish with six instead of three. And two plays after that, Josh Dobbs did that pinball thing he does so well:
Remember, he's going behind true freshmen Jack Jones and Chance Hall. The Vols pushed ahead 38-31 and would remain there to secure the program's biggest win of the decade. Dobbs finished with 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Our quarterback made "little" runs like this so often they tend to blur in our memory, but few were more important or more celebrated in the moment than this one.
