Tennessee Football Top 25 Plays of 2015 #6: Evan Berry, Houdini

Counting down the season's biggest plays.

One of the things I'd forgotten about this one is that it came in the final minute of the first half.  The Vols weren't in any danger against Western Carolina, with a field goal cutting into their lead 34-3.  But that score meant Evan Berry would get his first chance of the day to test WCU's kick coverage.

The coverage was there, really.  Berry just turned this one into the season's most-GIFable play:

So went the first of three kickoff returns for a touchdown this season for Evan Berry, who has earned consensus All-American honors.  This one was by far the most spectacular, which is impressive considering the other two came on the game's opening kickoff against Arkansas and from 100+ yards out against Kentucky.  Those two were more about picking the right hole and exploding through with speed.  This one was one part pinball action and one part just keep going, as Berry spins out of the attempted tackle and into daylight for an 88 yard score.
