Tennessee Baseball Hosts Cincinnati

The Vols will be on TV for the first time this season.

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee opens up this week with Cincinnati tonight before heading out on an eight game road series, the first opponent of which will be defending champions and second ranked Vanderbilt.  The Vols are coming off of their second straight SEC series loss, where they were swept over the weekend by Georgia.  Tennessee is struggling defensively this season, with a fielding percentage in the bottom 15% of the NCAA.

Tennessee is 15-5 all-time against Cincinnati, and have won the last eleven games.  The Vols and Bearcats haven't met since a two-game series in 2002.  The last game the Bearcats won in the series was part of a double header in 1976.

Hopefully the team can work out their issues and work their way into the SEC tournament.
