Tennessee Baseball hosts Grand Canyon: Weekend Series Thread

Tennessee returns to the field this weekend after missing two more games due to weather related issues. They will be hosting Grand Canyon University, who are in a transitional stage from Division II to Division I. GCU finished last season second in the Western Athletic Conference but were not eligible for the postseason (and won't be until 2017-18). The Lopes' transition was not without drama though, as the PAC-12 protested their admittance to Division I due to their for-profit status (they are the only for-profit school in Division I).

For the second weekend in a row there will be some familiar faces in the dugouts. GCU features two former assistants of Dave Serrano on staff: their pitching coach and recruiting coordinator Nathan Choate (who served as pitching coordinator at UC Irvine) and assistant coach Gregg Wallis (who played and coached at UC Irvine and coached in multiple roles at Cal State Fullerton and Tennessee).
