Tennessee vs #3 Texas A&M: Weekend Series Thread

Tennessee returns to Lindsey Nelson Stadium tonight to take on the #3 ranked Texas A&M Aggies. The Vols were last in action Sunday, where they closed out the series against South Carolina with a 10-4 victory. That win sealed the series win for the Vols, as they had won game two on Saturday on a bases loaded walk off single. They were originally scheduled to host Xavier Wednesday but the game was canceled and will not be made up.

After a successful weekend with the series victory against South Carolina, Tennessee has moved up in the SEC standings. They are now tied with Mississippi State for 12th place and the final SEC tournament spot. They are a game behind Alabama and two behind South Carolina.

Tennessee has not had the best luck in their four previous meetings against Texas A&M, going 1-3. The first match up was to open the 2005 season in the Minute Maid College Classic in Houston where the Vols fell 10-1. The other three games were in 2013, when The Vols dropped two straight games to open the series before winning the final game 7-5.

With three SEC series left to play, the Vols still have a chance at making the SEC tournament in Hoover. They will need to have a good outing this weekend against the Aggies to keep those hopes alive.
