Women's College World Series - Lady Vols vs Auburn Live Thread

After falling to Florida in the opener, the Lady Vols must climb out of the loser's bracket in the Women's College World Series, beginning today vs Auburn.

Four errors helped doom the Lady Vols in the opener on Thursday, a 7-2 loss to top seed Florida which puts Tennessee in win-or-go-home mode for as long as they can survive over the next two days.  It will take four straight wins - two today, two tomorrow - to advance to the championship series.

Can't get four without one, and today that begins with an SEC Tournament championship rematch against Auburn.  The Tigers took two of three from Tennessee in the regular season on the Plains, a high scoring series that saw Auburn win the opener 6-2, the Lady Vols win game two 8-6, and Auburn take the finale 12-9.  In the SEC Tournament the Lady Vols trailed 3-0 after two innings but rallied with one in the fourth and three in the fifth to take the lead, then added an insurance run in the top of the seventh to go up 5-3.  But it wasn't enough coverage:  a critical error helped Auburn tie the game in the seventh before winning it in extra innings 6-5.

If Tennessee gets past Auburn today, they'll meet seven seed UCLA tonight at 7:00 PM.  The winner there would need to take two straight from Florida on Sunday to advance to the championship series.  One thing at a time; the Lady Vols look for their first win of this year's trip to OKC at noon (ET) on ESPN.  If you're watching live, we welcome you to join us in the comments.
