Tennessee vs Belmont: Game Thread

Can the Vols bounce back?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

With two weeks left in the season the Vols are still alive and fighting for Hoover.  Their chances though continue to fall. They entered last week tied for the final spot in the field, but a three game sweep by Texas A&M dropped them back to last place in the SEC. The good news though is that next week's opponent, Mississippi State, is only one game ahead of the Vols. After tonight's game, the Vols will travel to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas for a three game series this weekend.

Tennessee is starting off the week tonight at home against Belmont. The Vols took on the Bruins earlier this season, when UT won 4-1 in Nashville. Tennessee leads the all-time series 6-4. Belmont is currently sitting in fourth place in the OVC.

Time is running out for the Vols, but with eight games left on the year they still have a chance to extend their season.
