Tennessee Vols vs Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - Game Thread

The Vols are back home this week as they play four of their five games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.  First up they will host Western Kentucky tonight before a quick trip up the road to ETSU.

Last week saw Tennessee finish with an even 2-2 record.  They won their midweek home opener against Cincinnati before travelling to the Keith LeClair Classic at ECU where they went 1-2, defeating ECU and falling to Maryland and Southeastern Louisiana.

Tennessee leads the all-time series with Western Kentucky 5-3 and have won the three meetings of Dave Serrano's tenure.  Two of those three did require extra innings.

Western Kentucky started this season strong, where they took two of three games against Youngstown State before they traveled to the Bulldog Invitational and swept their three game weekend against Georgia, Cincinnati, and South Alabama.  They followed that up last week with midweek wins against Belmont and Lipscomb.  This past weekend they hit a road bump though as they dropped three straight at Jacksonville State.  They were picked to finish 9th in Conference USA in the preseason coaches poll.

Next up the Vols will travel to ETSU for a 6 p.m. game tomorrow evening before returning home to host UC Irvine for a three game series this weekend.
