Friday, beautiful and strange
- Morning folks! Do you ever ponder at length what college football will look like in 2026? Neither do we, but then we have a lot less free time than FOX's Stewart Mandel, who has cooked up a fairly wackadoo 24-team 2026 SUPERCONFERENCE, which includes Tennessee. Teams not making the cut include USCe, Oklahoma St., Baylor and TCU, which is suuuuper interesting and not at all a way to drum up offseason clicks.
- Here's your softball reminder: Tennessee's NCAA Softball Tournament starts tonight at 7PM EST against Marist, who are it sounds like just really happy to be in Knoxville (ESPN2). That's nice and all. Go Vols.
- Lady Vols Holly Warlick added an intriguing piece (I say intriguing because she's from another country and I know nothing about womens' basketball recruiting anyways) yesterday in JUCO All-American PF Cheridene Green. The 6' 3" JR Green, a native of London (the one in England), played for ASA College in Brooklyn last year. Due to an injury at the end of last season, she is expected to redshirt next season, with two years of eligibility remaining.
- Just for the record, Andy Hutchins over at Alligator Army says Florida's 2016 schedule, which includes LSU and Arkansas in addition to UMass, North Texas, and Presbyterian, is unfair and hard.
