- Morning folks. Sept. 10th's facemelting Battle at Bristol football extravaganza has a kickoff time and broadcast home: 8PM EST on ABC. For those keeping track, that's back-to-back night games to open the season, after Sept. 1st's 7:30 Appalachian State game.

SEC Meetings The "SEC meetings"/"excuse to extend SEC Media Days into June" continued yesterday in Florida. People are still talking about satellite camps, which is interminable, and Butch Jones either thinks Georgia is going to be good, or just wants us all to think he thinks Georgia is going to be good.
Anyways Bret Bielema brought up an interesting thing nobody else is talking about: earlier in the year the rules oversight panel approved the use of electronic devices in the press box and the locker room. (The rule was later put on hold til next year at the earliest, which is why nobody is talking about it, but BERT isn't interested in your mainstream opinions of relevance, man.)

Hall of Fame The National Football Foundation released the names of the 75 former players and 6 retired coaches nominated for this year's College Hall of Fame class, which include VFLs Peyton Manning, Larry Sievers and Jackie Walker, along with noted non-VFL Steve Spurrier. Howard Schnellenberger was again not nominated, because the College Hall of Fame is dumb.
- Brad Shepard has put together a nice, updated preseason position-by-position preview of Tennessee's 2016 roster, to hold you over until the next preseason preview of Tennessee's 2016 roster.

So this is novel: there's an Israel Football League, apparently, and now they're going to be having some really visually confusing matchups, I guess: over the weekend Tennessee became by far the league's largest equipment supplier, after donating more than 700 Adidas practice jerseys rendered unusable by the recent switch to Nike. Downside here obviously being someone somewhere is being forced to wear the orange-checkerboard greys:
