Vols #10 in Amway Coaches Poll

Big Orange enter at #10 and get a first place vote to boot

NCAA Football: Outback Bowl-Northwestern vs Tennessee Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Coaches Poll (sponsored by Amway — when did this happen?) just hit the interwebs. Where are our beloved Tennessee Volunteers? Top 10. Barely. As in #10.

Alabama leads the way, followed by Clemson, Oklahoma, and Florida State. The all-rookie Buckeye team somehow ends up at #5, and then you have LSU, Stanford, Michigan, and Notre Dame before you hit the right shade of orange.

But get this: Alabama got 55 first place votes, Clemson got seven, and the Seminoles got one. And you know who got one first place vote? The Vols. Someone out there with some measure of authority (and presumably credibility as well) thinks the Vols are the best team in the nation. Woo.

Let the speculation begin as to who cast that vote and whether they’re drinking the orange moonshine, trolling the fan base, or obviously much more knowledgeable about college football than everybody else.
