Week Five TV schedule and rooting guide for Vols fans

There’s a lot to watch for Tennessee fans this week in addition to the game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Another big week for the Vols, as they attempt to grab the wheel for the SEC East race all for themselves. There are also a lot of other games that could impact the national race for the playoff spots as well. Here's the TV schedule and rooting guide for Tennessee Vols fans.

Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016

Matchup Time (ET) TV / Online
UConn at (6) Houston 8:00 pm ESPN / WatchESPN

This is practically a never mind night. We do get to watch a good Houston team, though, so there's that. The Cougars are ahead of us in the polls, so if you want to root for UConn and their roughly 10% chance to win, have at it.

Friday, Sept. 30, 2016

Matchup Time (ET) TV / Online
(7) Stanford at (10) Washington 9:00 pm ESPN / WatchESPN

Ooh, look. It's a Friday night game worth watching. If you're wondering who to root for between Stanford and Washington, welcome to the club. As of right now, Washington is the last ranked team on the Cardinal's schedule, and the Huskies still have to play #18 Utah. So I guess I'm rooting for Washington in this one.

Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016

Matchup Time (ET) TV / Online
(23) Florida at Vanderbilt Noon SECN / WatchESPN
(11) Tennessee at (25) Georgia 3:30 pm CBS / Stream
(8) Wisconsin at (4) Michigan 3:30 pm ABC / WatchESPN
(9) Texas A&M at South Carolina 4:00 pm SECN / WatchESPN
Oklahoma at (21) TCU 5:00 pm FOX / FSGo
Missouri at LSU 7:30 pm SECN / WatchESPN
(3) Louisville at (5) Clemson 8:00 pm ABC / WatchESPN

At noon, root for the Commodores to give Florida another loss and Tennessee a bit of a cushion in case we need it.

There's a lot happening at 3:30 in addition to the Vols playing Georgia. Both Michigan and Wisconsin still have Ohio State and another ranked Big 10 team on their schedule, so we can sit this one out and root for the loser to beat Ohio State later. DVR the Texas A&M game for scouting purposes and root for them to beat SEC East team South Carolina. Oklahoma at TCU might be fun, but there's not really anything at stake for Vols fans.

And then comes the evening slate. Are Missouri or LSU any good? I don't know! Let's find out! (Root for LSU.)

Who wants to watch two of the best quarterbacks in the game try to outscore each other? Root for Clemson to beat Louisville tonight and then later, root for them to lose to Florida State and for Louisville to beat Houston.

Enjoy!
