Do you remember that awesome opening slate of college football games to open the season last week? Yeah, well that was then. Time to pay up. With the exception of our own Battle at Bristol, this week may be as bad as last week as good. Good thing, though, because it sounds like we’re all going to be stuck in traffic all day anyway.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to watch or record, though. So here’s your schedule for the weekend, carefully curated just for Vols fans.

---|---|---|
Matchup | Time (ET) | TV / Online |
(13) Louisville at Syracuse | 8:00 pm | ESPN2 / WatchESPN |
There's really no rooting interest in this one for Vols fans, except that maybe you want Louisville to look good enough to make some trouble for Florida State, Clemson, and Houston later.

---|---|---|
Matchup | Time (ET) | TV / Online |
Nicholls State at (9) Georgia | Noon | SECN / WatchESPN |
Kentucky at Florida | 3:30 pm | CBS / CBSSports.com |
Arkansas at (15) TCU | 7:00 pm | ESPN / WatchESPN |
Iowa State at (16) Iowa | 7:30 pm | BTN / BTN2Go |
(17) Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech (at Bristol Motor Speedway) | 8:00 pm | ABC / WatchESPN |
We're pretty much just watching the Nicholls State at Georgia game to keep an eye on a future opponent, but as for the rest of the games, root for:
- Arkansas over TCU,
- Iowa State over Iowa, because of the rankings, and also because of this t-shirt and this really funny post, and
- Tennessee, obviously.
The Kentucky at Florida game is tricky. On the one hand, you probably want Florida to have as many losses as possible to keep distance between us in the SEC East race. On the other hand, you kind of want them to not lose before they play Tennessee. I don't think I'm taking sides in this one at all.
