Running back Timothy Jordan announced on Monday that he had committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. Jordan (Bartow, Fla.) is rated as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite Rankings (0.7984). He is listed at 6’0”, 187 pounds.
Jordan becomes the third running back to commit to UT in the 2017 class, joining Ty Chandler and Trey Coleman. These three should be more than enough, in conjunction with John Kelly and Carlin Fils-Aime, to replace the backfield depth the Vols lost last season with the mid-year departure of Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara leaving for the NFL.
Jordan shows enough burst to hit holes and a great ability to bounce off tacklers. His recruiting rankings definitely don’t immediately jump off the page, but his film shows enough that I think he could be at least a contributor in the backfield during his time in Knoxville.
Jordan is the 27th commit for the Vols in the 2017 class, which is now ranked #10 in the country.
Congratulations to Timothy and his family!
