So it appears that Tennessee will turn to redshirt freshman Jarrett Guarantano after all on Saturday against South Carolina. Volquest.com and a couple of others had the report first.

Butch Jones listed Dormady as the starter on the depth chart, but didn’t confirm that at his press conference yesterday. Larry Scott said the spot was open yesterday during his media availability.
Now, Guarantano has been named the starter.
There seems to be more going on here with Quinten Dormady. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but multiple people in the know have indicated that Dormady isn’t happy and is considering leaving the program. Brent Hubbs gave an update on VolQuest.com (paywal) today.
Hes not happy. He can change mind and stay but he’s not happy. Smh https://t.co/sDuEz8y32h

The Dormady rumors match up directly with the Guarantano news, so you can draw your own conclusion there. We’ll keep you up to date with that news if it becomes official, but for now, no decision has been made.
Guarantano is just 12-24 on the year for 54 yards. He’s been called upon in relief of Quinten Dormady during the past two games. Now, he gets his week to prepare as the starter without looking over his shoulder.
We’ll see if that can jumpstart this offense.
