Per BetOnline, the Tennessee Volunteers have opened as 5.5 point underdogs against the Kentucky Wildcats next weekend. That line is a little bigger than I thought it would be, but it’s certainly understandable considering the struggles of the Tennessee offense.
It’s been well documented, but the Tennessee offense hasn’t scored in a month. It’s been since September 23rd against UMass, specifically.
That streak continued yesterday against Alabama, predictably. The 45-7 beatdown took the Vols to 3-4 on the year. They’re through the toughest part of their schedule, but it remains to be seen if this team can pull themselves off of the mat and get to a bowl.
For Kentucky, they were smacked by Mississippi State on Saturday. It was never close, ending up 45-7. Despite that fact, sportsbooks still favor Kentucky by nearly a touchdown next weekend.
The Wildcats have beaten the Vols just once since 1985. Kentucky has a golden opportunity to add another one next Saturday.
