Sheffield is currently a junior at Independence High School in Thompson Station, Tenn. He has a handful of other Power Five scholarship offers which includes Penn State, Ole Miss, Stanford and Vanderbilt.
This is the latest of several players to either decommit from Tennessee or open their recruitments as UT finds itself 0-4 in SEC play this year, including being outscored 101-16 in its last three conference games.
Tennessee now currently has two commits in the 2019 class: four-star wide receiver Cameron Wynn from Chattanooga, Tenn. and four-star athlete Te’Cory Couch from Hollywood, Fla.
